Every COO Coaching Session Is Unique

Generic business advice often fails operational leaders in high-growth companies. You aren’t a cog in a large machine; you are the essential partner to a visionary, tasked with building stability and translating chaos into focused action. This requires more than project management templates and generic “best practices.”

It requires a shift in mindset, a resilient internal anchor, and a new way of leading.

My coaching is built on a foundation of deep empathy, lived experience in the operational trenches, and a set of core Anchoring Principles designed to create lasting transformation. The goal is not just to solve today’s problems, but to equip you with the skills and mindset to navigate tomorrow’s challenges with confidence.

My primary focus is on your internal landscape—your mindset, emotional regulation, and leadership identity—because mastering this is the key to managing any external operational challenge.

  • Mindset First: We begin by strengthening your internal anchor, focusing on self-awareness and practical emotional regulation techniques so you can make clear-headed decisions under pressure.
  • The Identity Shift: I guide you through the crucial identity shift from a reactive "Fixer" or "Doer" to a strategic "Designer" and "Enabler". This involves unpacking the "Hero Complex" and reframing your value around empowering others and building systems, not just personal task completion.

The most common dynamic I see is a visionary CEO (the "hot air balloon") full of brilliant ideas, energy, and creative power, partnered with an operational leader (the "Anchor") who provides grounding and direction.

  • It's About Balance, Not Brakes: My philosophy is not about slowing the visionary down. It's about providing the essential stability and structure that transforms that powerful visionary energy into focused, intentional, and sane growth.
  • Harnessing the Storm: We focus on communication strategies that allow you to constructively guide visionary ideas and manage "Shiny Object Syndrome" without stifling the creativity that fuels the company.

While I provide proven frameworks, my ultimate goal is to enhance your ability to think systemically and lead improvements independently. I am your partner and guide, not a consultant who builds things for you.

  • You are the Expert: You will learn to diagnose your own system gaps and identify where to build Minimum Viable Systems (MVS).
  • Empowering Your Leadership: I coach you on how to guide your teams in co-creating solutions, fostering a culture of process improvement from a leadership perspective, not just from the top down. This ensures the solutions stick long after our coaching ends.

My philosophy is that practical frameworks are the tools we use to bring mindset shifts to life. They are a means to an end, not a rigid dogma.

  • Frameworks as Flexible Tools: We use proven frameworks (from EOS®, Covey, etc.) as flexible tools that are always tailored to your specific challenges and company culture.
  • ADHD-Informed Systems: My ADHD-informed approach ensures that any system we design works with your (and your CEO's) unique wiring, not against it, creating efficiencies that feel both natural and sustainable.

The "hustle culture" puts operational leaders at a high risk of burnout. A core part of my philosophy is building personal sustainability to ensure your long-term effectiveness and well-being.

  • Your Personal Operating System: We work on designing your "Ideal Week," setting healthy boundaries, and implementing "Sharpen the Saw" practices for long-term energy management.
  • Combating Isolation: We actively acknowledge and address the inherent isolation of the COO role by building strategies for you to cultivate a robust support network.
